An Exness account is a user’s registered personal information and profile represented as a Personal Area (PA). After logging in, a PA allows the user to create new trading accounts (see below for more), and generally manage their account preferences and actions.
Exness accounts must eventually be verified, where the account owner provides proof of identity and residence for regulatory purposes.
Exness accounts are region-locked once registered, as there are specific payment methods offered depending on country of residence.

What are trading accounts?
It is important to differentiate between an Exness account as a PA, and trading accounts which are separate accounts used to manage their orders and balance with a trading platform.
Consider the following:
- Your PA has an account password required to log in, while each trading account will have its own password required to log onto the trading platform to trade.
- Each trading account has its own balance as there is no collective balance for an Exness account.
- Multiple trading accounts can be created in the PA, but only one PA can exist per Exness account.
More can be learned in our article about trading accounts.
