The MT4 app for iOS users is currently unavailable for download on the App Store following a recent decision made by Apple. MetaQuotes is working on bringing the app back online soon.
- This doesn’t affect users who already have the app installed.
- It is advised not to uninstall your app during this time.
- Meta Trader WebTerminal can come in handy for users who have uninstalled the application or wish to use a mobile terminal to trade while the app is unavailable.
Account Management
With MT4, you conveniently manage multiple trading accounts with MT4, though not all can be active at once. Learn how to add and switch trading accounts on your device.
To add a trading account:
For Android
- Open MetaTrader 4 and select Manage Accounts from the main menu.
- Tap the + icon and select Login to an existing account.
- Enter “Exness” and then select the trading server appropriate for your trading account.
- Enter your trading account number and trading account password, then tap Sign In.
- The trading account is added to the Accounts tab.
For iOS
- Open MetaTrader 4 and select Settings.
- Tap New Account and select Login to an existing account.
- Enter “Exness” and then select the trading server appropriate for your trading account.
- Enter your trading account’s number and trading account password, then tap Sign In.
To switch the active trading account:
For Android:
- Open MetaTrader 4 and select Manage Accounts from the main menu.
- Tap the trading account you wish to make active in the Accounts tab, enter the trading account’s credentials if prompted, then Sign In.
- MetaTrader 4 will now be logged in with that trading account.
For iOS:
- Open MetaTrader 4 and go to Settings.
- Tap the arrow next to the account displayed at the top of the page. You will see the account you are currently trading on under Current Account. Below that, under Trade Accounts you will find the other accounts added to the app.
- Tap on any account to log in.
- MetaTrader 4 will now be logged in with that trading account.
While you can switch between multiple trading accounts in the MT4 app, you cannot manage them all at once; for this need, we recommend MT4 MultiTerminal.
Add and remove instruments
The prices of financial instruments will be shown in real-time on your mobile terminal. You can select how quotes are displayed from two options:
- Simple
- Symbol
- Ask and Bid prices
- Advanced
- Symbol
- Ask and Bid prices
- Time of last tick
- Spread
- High and Low prices
Here’s how you can add and remove instruments on MT4 for your device:
Adding instruments
For Android
Click on the Quotes icon on the bottom-left of the screen to bring up the default list of instruments.
Tap + in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select a group of symbols.
- Tap the instrument(s) you want to add.
- When you’ve added the instruments you want to see in the Quotes tab, tap the Back button until you’ve returned to the Quotes tab.
For iOS
- Tap + in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select a group of symbols.
- Tap the green + to add instrument(s).
- When you’ve added the instruments you want to see in the Quotes tab, tap Done.
Removing instruments
For Android
- Tap the pencil (edit) icon located top-right.
- Tap the bin (delete) icon located top-right.
- Select the symbol(s) to be deleted by ticking the boxes.
- Tap the bin icon again to confirm removal.
- Once done, tap the Back button.
For iOS:
- Tap the edit icon in the top left corner of the screen.
- Select the symbol(s) to be deleted.
- Tap the red basket icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Once you’ve deleted the instrument(s), tap the Edit icon to go back to the Quotes tab.
Placing trades
Here’s how you can open, close, or modify an order on the MT4 app for your device.
For Android:
To open an order:
- Go to Quotes.
- Tap the instrument you want to trade with and then New Order.
- Set your order parameters (Stop Loss, Take Profit, Deviation, etc)
- To execute a market order now, tap Buy by Market or Sell by Market.
- To set a pending order instead, tap Instant Execution or Market Execution (based on your account type and instrument) to bring up a dropdown menu.
- Choose one of the pending order types from the dropdown menu and set your order parameters (Price, Stop Loss, Take Profit, etc).
- Tap Place. You will then receive a notification that the order has been opened successfully.
To modify an order:
- Tap on the Trade icon.
- Tap an order to see its details (Price, S/L, T/P, order ID, etc).
- Tap and hold the order, then tap;Modify Order to modify.
- If you modify the order, settings will be presented for you to change; tap Modify to finalize.
To close an order:
- Tap on the Trade icon.
- Tap an order to see its details (Price, S/L, T/P, order ID, etc).
- Tap and hold the order, then tap Close Order to close.
- If you close the order, you will receive a notification.
For iOS:
To open an order:
- Go to Quotes.
- Tap the symbol you want to trade and then tap Trade.
- Enter the lot size, and optionally set the Stop Loss, and Take Profit as well.
- Tap Sell by Market to sell or Buy by Market to buy, when you are ready.
- You will then receive a notification that the order has been opened successfully.
To modify an existing order:
- Go to Trade.
- Tap an order to see its details (S/L, T/P, order ID, swap, etc.).
- Press and hold the order, then tap Modify.
- Modify the Stop Loss and/or Take Profit parameters.
- Tap Modify again to confirm. You will receive a notification that the order has been modified.
To close an order:
- Go to Trade.
- Tap an order to see its details (S/L, T/P, order ID, swap, etc.).
- Press and hold the order, then tap Close.
- Confirm that you want to close the order by tapping Close.
- You will receive a notification that the order has been closed.
Configure charts
To open a chart for any instrument:
- Go to Quotes.
- Tap the instruments, then select Open chart.
To change chart type:
- Tap Menu, then tap Settings.
- Tap Line type.
- You can use three types of real-time charts in the mobile terminal: Bar chart, Candlestick, and Line chart.
To change timeframe:
- Tap on the chart.
- Select a timeframe from the pop-up. The mobile terminal for Android supports 9 timeframes: M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1, and MN.
To add indicators:
- When in a graph, tap the f icon in the top menu.
- Tap f+ next to the Main Chart.
- Select an indicator from those presented.
- Set your preferences for the selected indicator.
- Tap Done.
For iOS:
To open a chart for any instrument:
- Go to Quotes.
- Tap the instruments and then tap Chart.
To change chart type:
- Tap anywhere on the chart, then tap Settings.
- Choose a chart type. You can use three types of real-time charts in the mobile terminal: Bar Chart, Candlestick, and Line Chart.
- Tap the Back button.
To change the timeframe:
- Tap the current timeframe in the top left corner of the screen.
- Select a timeframe. The mobile terminal for iOS supports 9 timeframes: M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1, and MN.
To add indicators:
- On the chart, tap on the f symbol.
- Select either Main window or Indicator window 1 and tap +.
- Select an indicator. You have access to thirty technical indicators on the iOS app.
- Specify settings for the selected indicator.
- Tap Done.
Journal
To keep track of all activity for your session in MT4 on your device, a Journal is automatically kept as you are logged in, and it refreshes daily. Here’s how to access log files in your Journal on your respective device.
For Android:
- Go to Journal in the top left menu.
- Select the dates and tap the letter icon to send it via email. Make sure you change the recipient to support@exness.com
For iOS:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select Journal to be shown a log of your session’s activities.
The Journal is useful for tracking errors, and it can be emailed to keep a record by tapping the mail icon on the top-right of the screen.
Note: In all cases, log files can only show actions made on the specific terminal it is downloaded from and will not store information about actions made using a different terminal.

For Android:
- Go to News in the top left menu.
- View the latest economic news from FXStreet. You can also tap each individual item to open up the full article in detail.
For iOS:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select News to be presented with a selection of articles from FXStreet. You can also tap each individual item to open up the full article in detail.
