We’re here to guide you through the process of clearing your browser’s cache and cookies, useful for troubleshooting when network issues persist.
Be aware that by clearing your browser data, you may lose the following:
- Saved passwords
- Address bar autocomplete
- Auto-login saved data
As a general rule, the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Command+Shift+Delete (MAC) while the browser is open will take you directly to the area where you can clear your browser’s cache and cookies. If this does not work, read on to find your browser’s directions.
Desktop Browsers
Windows
Google Chrome:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- Click on Customize and Control on the top right (shown as 3 dots).
- Select History, and select History again from the list.
- Click on Clear browsing data.
- Select All time for the time range, tick Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
- Select Clear data.
Firefox:
- Click on Menu on the top right (shown as 3 bars) and choose Preferences.
- Select Privacy and Security.
- Scroll down and select Clear History.
- Select Cache and Cookies, and in the time range to clear choose Everything.
- Select Clear Now.
Internet Explorer:
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click the settings icon (top right) and select Safety.
- Click Delete browsing history.
- Deselect Preserve Favorites website data.
- Tick Temporary Internet files and website files and Cookies and website data.
- Click Delete.
- You will see a confirmation at the bottom of the window when the process is complete.
- Exit all browser windows and re-open the browser.
Opera:
- Click on the Opera icon (top left).
- Select Settings from the menu and choose Privacy & Security.
- Select Clear browsing data and select ‘the beginning of time’.
- Tick Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
- Select Clear browsing data.
- Exit all browser windows and re-open the browser.
Mac
Safari:
- Click on Safari on the top left.
- Select Preferences and click Privacy.
- Select Manage Website Data, click Remove All and click Done.
- Select Develop in the safari menu and select Empty Caches.
Safari 8 and later:
- Click on Safari, to open the menu and select Clear History... or Clear History and Website Data....
- Select the maximum time range, and then click Clear History.
- Go to Safari > Quit Safari or press Command-Q to exit the browser completely.
- Re-open browser.
Mobile Browsers
Android
Chrome:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app.
- Tap on More on the top right (shown as 3 dots).
- Select History and tap on Clear browsing data.
- Select All time as the time range.
- Tick the Cookies and site data and Cached images and files.
- Tap on Clear data.
Other browsers:
- Go to Settings and choose Apps or Application Manager.
- Ensure it displays All applications.
- In the list of installed apps, find and tap your web browser. Tap Clear Cache.
- Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.
Steps may vary depending on your iteration of the Android OS.
iOS
Safari:
- Open your Settings app.
- Tap Safari.
- Find the Privacy field and select Clear History and Website Data.
- Tap Clear History and Website Data and confirm.
- Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.
