Before we get into the details of how this situation can be handled, we would like to suggest that you always open an account from your country of permanent residence. If you are on vacation or holiday in a country, it is advisable to wait until you get back to your home country before you open an account.
This is because in order to verify your account, you will need to verify your phone number and your address too, both of which need to match the country you register in.
Thus, opening an account in a country you are only staying temporarily can make matters difficult later on (in terms of completing account verification).
Now let us talk about how to verify your account if you registered in a different country:
POI (Proof of Identity)
In order to complete POI verification, you will always need to provide ID documents issued in your country of nationality*. This is irrespective of which country you registered the account in and where you are located currently.
Let us look at a few examples in this regard:
- If you are a Malaysian national who lives in India and has opened an account there, you will need to provide ID documents issued by the Malaysian government for POI verification.
- If you are an Indian citizen who registered an account with Exness in Pakistan, and are currently carrying out verification from South Africa, you will still need to provide ID documents issued by the Indian government.
POR (Proof of Residence)
In order to complete POR verification, you will need to provide address documents issued in the country you registered in.
Let us look at a few examples:
- If you are an Indian citizen who has registered an account in South Africa, you must provide address documents issued in South Africa.
- If you are an Indian citizen who registered an account with Exness in India, and are currently carrying out verification from South Africa, you will still need to provide address documents issued in India. This is because you have selected India as your country of residence during account opening. If you have permanently moved to South Africa, we suggest you open a new account in South Africa.
If you move to a different country after verification, we suggest you contact our Support Team to change the address on your account. It is advisable to have the most accurate information updated on your account at all times.
*Exness does not accept nationals of certain countries as its clients. You can find the list of countries here. In such cases you will not be able to carry out the verification and your account will be terminated.
