Standard and extended swap-free
Swap-free accounts are available at two levels to non-Islamic countries: standard or extended. The difference is the amount of trading instruments with zero swap. Extended swap-free is offered by default, with trading activity determining whether an account becomes standard or remains extended. To maintain extended swap-free status, you need to trade mostly within the day and hold a low amount of overnight positions.
Swap-free status applies to the entire Personal Area; in other words, all trading accounts and account types will have the swap-free status if your Exness account is swap-free.
Specific instruments are considered swap-free under standard and/or extended levels (see below); for all other trading instruments, swaps are applied. Check if an instrument is swap-free on the contract specifications page.
Standard swap-free
Standard swap-free will have no swap applied for orders open overnight for these instrument groups:
- Cryptocurrencies (except BTC crosses: BTCXAU, BTCXAG, BTCTHB, BTCAUD, BTCCNH, BTCZAR, BTCJPY, BTCKRW)
- Stocks
- Indices
Extended swap-free
Extended swap-free includes standard swap-free instruments and additionally:
- Majors: AUDUSD, EURUSD, GBPUSD, NZDUSD, USDCAD, USDCHF, USDJPY
- Minors: AUDNZD, EURCHF, GBPJPY, AUDCHF, AUDJPY, EURAUD, EURCAD, EURGBP, EURJPY, EURNZD, GBPCHF, GBPNZD, NZDJPY, NZDCAD
- Metals: XAUUSD
- All cryptocurrencies, stocks, and indices
Swaps are charged for all other metals, energies, minor pairs, and exotic pairs.
Changing between swap-free levels
The swap-free level is determined by trading activity. By default, you start with extended swap-free. If you do not trade mostly during trading hours and hold a large amount of positions open overnight, you may be moved to standard swap-free.
Pay attention to notifications in your Personal Area (PA) for any imminent changes to your swap-free level. To confirm your swap-free level, log into your PA, click the Profile icon and select Trading Conditions.
