Once you’ve registered an Exness account and fully verified your account, you can proceed to these steps.
- Make your first deposit

Make your first deposit
In your Personal Area, the Deposit tab will display all the available payment methods in your registered region, including the respective processing times, limits, and commission fees, if applicable.
Some payment methods have verification requirements, so we highly recommend completely verifying your account to enable all payment methods. Simply click on a payment method to bring up its verification requirements.
We suggest learning more about making your first deposit before selecting the most suitable payment method.
Note: Trading is disabled by default until the minimum deposit requirements are met. An error message displaying “Trade is Disabled”, if you are trying to open a trade without making a deposit.
Choose a trading terminal
At Exness, we offer a range of trading terminals that makes it convenient for you to trade. Get to know the trading terminals and compare the trading platform functionalities before choosing the right one for you.
These are the trading terminals we offer:
- Exness Trade App Mobile Terminal
- Exness Terminal
- Desktop Terminals
- MT4/MT5 WebTerminal
- MetaTrader Mobile Terminals
- MT4 Multiterminal
Note: If you open a MetaTrader 4 account, you won’t be able to use MetaTrader 5 with your MT4 login and vice versa. If you want accounts for both MT4 and MT5, you’d have to open separate trading accounts for them.
Log in to the terminal
Exness Trade App Mobile Terminal
Download the Exness Trade app and log in with your Exness account.
Exness Terminal
Log in to your Personal Area, click on the app launcher icon in the top header, and click on the Exness terminal.
MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5
Download and install your chosen MetaTrader platform on your desktop device, and log in with your Exness credentials.
MT4/MT5 WebTerminal
Sign in to the WebTerminal on our website with your account number, password, and server.
MetaTrader Mobile Terminals
Download and install the appropriate MetaTrader mobile application on your phone and log in with your Exness credentials.
MT4 Multiterminal
Download and install the MT4 Multiterminal on your Windows OS and log in with your trading account.
Add trading instruments
Do you have favorite symbols that you like to trade, like EURUSD? Add them to your Market Watch in the WebTerminal or Desktop Terminal.
- Right-click anywhere in the Market Watch window.
- Click Symbols, then choose the group of trading instruments you want to view.
- Choose a trading instrument and click Show (or Show all if you want to add all available instruments), then close the window.
The trading instrument you've chosen will now be shown in the Market Watch window. If you want to view the chart of the symbol you’ve added, simply drag it to the chart window.
To add instruments on the watchlist on the Exness Terminal:
- Under the watchlist, enter a term in the search bar; for example: entering “USD” will show trading instruments with USD.
- Click on an instrument of your choice to bring up its chart and start watching.
To add instruments to your Favourites list on the Exness Trade App:
- On the Exness Trade App, head to the Trade tab.
- A list of instruments under the Favorites field will be shown first followed by Popular, Top Movers, Majors, Metals, etc as you scroll to the left. To see the complete list of instruments offered for trading in Exness, tap All.
- Click on the instrument and tap on the star icon.
Calculate margin
Margin is the amount of money reserved so as to open and maintain a leveraged trading position. Always make sure you have enough money in your account to open a trade.

Check market hours
Before placing your first trade, make sure you understand when the world’s financial markets open and close, and when you can trade.
Open a trade
To place a trade on the Desktop Terminal or WebTerminal:
- Right-click anywhere in the Trade Tab and choose New Order.
- Fill in the required fields:
a. Symbol: Choose a trading instrument from the drop-down list, which shows the symbols
you’ve added to your Market Watch window.
b. Type of order: Choose either Market Execution or Pending Order. Pro accounts have access
to Instant Execution too.
c. Volume: Type the lot size (volume you want to trade) for your order. The minimum and
maximum lot size depends on your account type. Click here to read more.
d. Trade Type: Choose Buy or Sell as desired.
You will be able to track the progress of your trade in the Terminal window.
To place a trade on the Exness Terminal:
- On the chart of your chosen instrument, open a Market or Pending order by selecting the respective tab on the right side of the screen,
- Set your order by either volume by lots, units, currency, or by margin requirements in your account currency.
To place a trade on the Exness Trade app:
- On the Trade tab, select your chosen instrument.
- Tap on either Sell or Buy on the next screen.
- Select the number of lots or currency and tap Confirm.
Close a Trade
Two ways to close an open trade on the Desktop Terminal or WebTerminal:
- Click the X on the open trade located on the far right of the Trade Tab.
- Right-click on the open trade in the Trade Tab, and click Close Order.
To close an order on the Exness Terminal:
- Close an order from that trading instrument’s chart by clicking the x icon for the order, or from the portfolio tab with the x icon.
- To close all active orders for a particular instrument, click on the Close All Positions button located at the top-right of the chart (next to the Profit displayed).
- Close all open positions for every traded instrument by clicking on the Close All button at the bottom-right of the portfolio area.
Close all positions is a feature available exclusively to our Exness Terminal users. This feature allows you to close all open orders with a single click by hitting the Close all positions button displayed at the top right corner of the trading terminal.

To close an order on the Exness Trade app:
- Find the order you want to close in the Open tab.
- Tap on the order and then select Close order.
- Tap Confirm to close the order.
- Alternatively, open the chart with the active trading instrument of the order. Tap X at the top of the chart, then Confirm to close the order.
- You can also swipe left on the instrument in the trade tab, select Close, and then Confirm to close all orders for that instrument.
- Another way to close order is to tap on it in the chart to bring up its options, then tap Close order and Confirm.
Note: Closing the trade will not happen automatically, unless in the case of a pending order or stop out.
