You can trade on MT4 accounts using the MT4 desktop app, MT4 mobile app, MT4 WebTerminal. For managing multiple MT4 accounts, the MultiTerminal is also available.

For MT5 accounts, you can trade using the MT5 desktop app, MT5 mobile app, MT5 WebTerminal, Exness Trade app, and Exness Terminal.

Trading platform options are determined by the type of trading account you create. A trading account is either MT4-based or MT5-based at the time of creation and cannot be switched between MetaTrader versions.

This means an MT4 trading account cannot be used with the MT5 platform, and vice versa.

You can always create new trading accounts to try other trading account types.

Managing default trading platforms

You can manage which trading platform your trading account uses by default from your Personal Area (PA) when you are trading from your PC/laptop.

1. Log into your PA.
2. Under My Accounts area, find the trading account you wish to manage and click Trade.
3. A selection of available trading platforms will be displayed.

From here, you can choose a specific trading terminal, and toggle whether or not to make it this trading account’s default terminal. Other options are available for additional trading terminals compatible with your trading account, including the Exness Trade mobile app.

You can also head to Settings then Trading Terminals in your PA to set your default trading terminals for MT4 and MT5 accounts.
