All charts on trading platforms - desktop and mobile, show the bid prices by default.
It is advisable to enable the ask line when opening sell orders.
Let us look at how this can be done in a few easy steps.
Desktop
MT4 +
To enable the ask line:
- Right-click anywhere on the chart.
- Select Properties then the Common tab.
- Check the box for Show Ask Price Line.
MT5 +
To enable the ask line:
- Right-click anywhere on the chart.
- Select Properties then the Show tab.
- Check the box for Show Ask Price Line.
The Ask Price Line appears in red by default. If the Ask Price Line is the same color as your chart background, you may not see it. To avoid this go to the Properties then open the Colors tab and change the color of the Ask Price Line.
The Ask Price Line is also unlikely to appear on larger timeframes as it may clash with the Bid Line.
