Exness Terminal is a robust, custom-built trading platform that supports MT5 trading accounts (real and demo accounts), which are available exclusively to Exness traders. This browser-based platform does not require installation or software updates.
For certain regions, MT5-platform-based trading accounts can only be used with the MetaTrader 5 terminal (desktop and mobile) and are not supported on Exness Terminals.
Opening Exness Terminal
- Log in to your Personal Area (PA).
- Click Trade on any MT5 trading account.
- Select Exness Terminal in the pop-up window.
- Exness Terminal will open with the respective trading account.
You can change Exness Terminal's timezone by clicking on Settings and selecting your preferred time zone under Time zone. You can also set the Exness Terminal theme to Light, Dark, or to follow your device system settings. To change the language on the Exness Terminal, update your preference via the globe icon in your Personal Area (PA), then reopen Exness Terminal to apply the settings.
Expand any of the features below to learn more about them:
Clicking Deposit will redirect you to your PA to make a deposit using any available payment method. The trading account manager contains deposit, withdrawal, and internal transfer features, transaction history, and real-time information about the current active trading account, including:
- Balance
- Equity
- Margin
- Free Margin
- Margin Level
- Account leverage
Toggle Hide balance to blur the information above, the account status panel, and the positions’ profit and loss. You can also download the trading log from here and switch trading accounts. Clicking Manage Accounts will take you back to your Personal Area (PA).
One-click trading
Activate by clicking the one-click trading icon above the orders tab and acknowledging the disclaimer by selecting "Yes, proceed". When activated, you can open and close orders from the instruments tab, order form, orders area, and chart without confirmation pop-up messages.
To open an order:
- From Instruments:
- Click on an instrument and Sell or Buy on the pop-up order form.
- Set the desired order details.
- Click Confirm.
- From the order form:
- Click Sell or Buy.
- Set the desired order details.
- Click Confirm.
- From the chart:
- Click Sell or Buy on the top right of the chart.
- Set the desired order details on the order form.
- Click Confirm.
- For pending orders, hover over the chart at your desired price.
- Click the grey plus and select the order type, or set an alert.
From the order form, you can also place an order using the Risk calculator mode :
- Select Risk calculator from the order form dropdown menu.
- Select Sell or Buy and set the desired order details such as market or pending order, risk, stop loss, and take profit.
- Based on the values entered, the calculated number of lots will be displayed.
- Hit Confirm.
To close an order:
- Click the X icon for the order item shown in the active chart.
- Click the X icon on any order in the Open or Pending tabs.
- Close and confirm all active orders for an instrument by clicking the X icon at the chart's top-right.
- Close and confirm all market orders by clicking Close all at the bottom-right of the orders area.
- Delete a pending order by clicking on the bin icon.
When performing close all operations on Exness Terminal, the server executes positions consecutively within a few milliseconds between each order. The time required for execution varies depending on the number of orders, and it is normal for the process to take longer with a more significant number of orders.
To modify an order:
- Click the pencil (edit) icon on an order in the orders area. In the order window, modify the order under the Modify tab.
- Alternatively, on the chart, hover over your current order and select either TP or SL and drag the corresponding lines on the chart when modifying take profit and stop loss. Once done, click Modify position.
To partially close an order:
- Click the pencil (edit) icon on an order in the orders area.
- In the order window, select Partial close tab.
- Enter the volume to close, then click Close order.
To close by an order:
This function is only possible if there are two orders of the opposite directions.
- Click the pencil (edit) icon on an order in the orders area.
- Click on the open order and select the Close by tab. If you have multiple opposite orders, a list will be displayed.
- Click the opposite order you want to close.
Trading sentiment
Trading sentiment for an instrument, indicating its recent upward or downward trend, is displayed under the Sell and Buy buttons. The last hour of activity is shown as a blue (buy) or red (sell) bar and is synced across both web and mobile Exness Terminal platforms.
Open order mode
To set a default open order mode on Exness Terminal, click on the gear icon to set the order form to either Regular form, One-click form, or Risk calculator form.
Trading instruments can be organized in the Watchlist. They are shown at their current price and price movement in real time. Other functions include:
- Find an instrument with the search bar or select a category.
- Click the instrument to open its chart.
- Click the star icon to add it to the favorites list.
- Customize the watchlist by clicking the 3-dot menu and toggling the data columns.
- The 2-arrow icon hides the watchlist, and clicking the arrow to the left of the chart will expand the watchlist.
- A three-red-line symbol will be displayed if an instrument is affected by higher margin requirements (HMR). Click the symbol to display the HMR details.
- A gray prohibited symbol will appear when a market is closed for an instrument. Hovering over this symbol will display the time of the market opening. Only the market closed symbol will be shown if an HMR period is active during a market closure.
Here is the economic calendar for events by country and impact presented by FxStreet. Events are listed in order of their latest appearance. Click on an event to read more detailed information.
The Portfolio area displays your open, pending, and closed orders. This includes essential data such as order type, volume, lot, open price, current price, take profit, stop loss, open time, swap, and profit and loss.
The Closed tab shows closed orders up to the previous day (by default). Click Show previous 30 days to expand the list of closed orders.
A chart displays an instrument's performance over a period of time.
Opening and closing a chart:
- Click the + icon above the chart.
- Enter the name/symbol of the instrument in the search bar or select a category from the dropdown menu.
- Select the desired instrument.
- The chart is opened in the chart area.
- To close a chart, click X.
You can click and drag the instrument tabs to reorder your open charts if you have multiple charts.
On mobile, you can display a chart inside the order form by clicking the toggle Show chart. When placing the order, the chart will be shown in landscape mode.
Customizing a chart:
The settings below the instrument tab allow you to customize an open chart.
Compare symbols simultaneously
- Click the + symbol and enter the instrument(s) you would like to compare in the respective chart. Select the instrument and close the pop-up window.
Change the time frame
- Click 1m to select a timeframe for minutes, hours, and days.
Change the chart type
- Click the chart icon to change the chart type, including bars, candles, lines, baseline, columns, etc.
Add indicators
- Click fx Indicators to add multiple available indicators. Remove them by clicking the arrow beside the bin icon on the left side of the chart and selecting Remove indicators.
- Click on the Show object tree icon to manage the displayed indicators.
Save an indicator template
- Click on the 4 box icon and click Save Indicator template or bring up a saved indicator template
Replay a chart
- Click the rewind button, select a data point on the chart, then press play, forward, jump to real-time, or exit the chart replay mode.
Undo and redo a chart action
- Click the respective undo and redo buttons to undo or redo a chart action.
Setup multi-chart layout
- Click Layout setup icon to select the number of charts to be displayed simultaneously.
- You may choose to display up to 8 charts at the same time.
- Toggle on to sync the elements of your choice across all charts.
Save a chart layout
- Click Save to save your chart layout, indicators, and drawings. You can rename, load, or delete a saved layout.
Take a chart snapshot
- Click on the camera icon to capture your current chart. You can download, copy, or share a link to the image, open it in a new tab, or tweet it.
Fullscreen mode
- Click the fullscreen icon to view your chart in fullscreen mode.
Hide or unhide specific chart settings
- Click on the settings icon to toggle the display for signals, HMR periods, price alerts, open positions, and the economic calendar on the chart.
Changing price sources
- Click on the settings icon. Under Price source, select between Ask or Bid. The chart will automatically be updated according to your selection.
Drawing tools
50 drawing tools are available from the left-hand bar. Click to use or double-click the icon to expand its selection. Click the eye icon on the bar to hide or unhide the drawings made on the chart, or click the bin icon and then hit Remove drawings to clear.
Chart settings
Right-click anywhere on the chart and select Settings to customize chart settings, including symbol, status line, scales, and canvas.
While TradingView is integrated into our Exness Terminal, it is only a functionality used for enhancing charts. It is not possible to log in to Exness accounts on TradingView.
Chart troubleshooting
The Exness terminal may experience slow chart performance due to unstable internet connectivity or browser-related issues. You can try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure your internet connection is stable.
- Log out of the Exness terminal and log back in to refresh the terminal.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.

Push notifications can be created for the Exness Terminal within your browser.
Notifications can be sent for the following events:
- Margin call
- Orders closed due to take profit (TP) and stop loss (SL) settings
- Pending order open
- Change in balance (due to deposits and withdrawals)
- Price jumps or drops
- Price reaching a minimum or maximum amount set
- Forex news and financial events
- Trade analyst news
- Change in document status
- Price alerts
If you do not see the pop-up to turn on notifications on your browser, you can set them up by following these steps:
- Click on the site information icon on the search bar in your browser.
- Click on Site Settings.
- Toggle Notifications on or select Allow from the dropdown menu, depending on the options presented by your browser.
Alternatively, notifications are displayed under the bell icon on the top banner. Click the bell icon to view your notifications.
Price alerts
"Price alerts" is a feature that allows you to set notifications when the market reaches specific price levels. You can view current price alerts in the Active tab and executed and expired price alerts under History. If a price alert is deleted manually, it will not appear in the History tab.
Traders should actively monitor the market through their trading platforms and applications to manage their trading activities, rather than relying solely on this feature.
There are two ways to set price alerts:
On the chart:
- Click the + button on the price axis.
- Enter the precise values of your desired alert. If necessary, select a recurring alert. Alternatively, drag the Alert line until it reaches the desired level.
- Click Add price alert to confirm.
On the Alerts section:
- Click on the clock icon on the left banner of the screen.
- Click + New alert.
- Enter the precise values of your desired alert. Select a recurring alert if necessary.
- Click Add price alert to confirm.
Sound effects
Click the settings icon and toggle the settings to enable sound effects for price alerts and closing by TP/SL/SO. The web browser will display a pop-up notification. Click Allow to enable sound notifications.
Google Chrome
- Once you have enabled sound effects for alerts, a pop-up notification will appear in the left corner of your browser window to allow notifications from Exness Terminal.
- Click Allow.
Safari
- Once you have enabled sound effects for alerts, you will be asked to allow notifications from your browser.
- On your browser window, click the icon on the left of your search bar and select Website settings.
- Under Pop-up windows, select Allow.
Firefox
- Once you have enabled sound effects for alerts, a pop-up notification will appear in the left corner of your browser window to allow notifications from Exness Terminal.
- Click Allow.
