How to use WebTerminal
This video shows you how to log into WebTerminal and trade.
Logging in
To open WebTerminal, simply click the button below from your preferred browser to be taken to the login screen.
Select either the MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 tab, then click Continue. MetaTrader 5 requires the trading account server at this stage (which cannot be changed at the login screen).
For MetaTrader 4:
- Complete the form with the following information:
- Login: your trading account number
- Password: your trading account password
- Server: the trading account server
Click OK with this information entered.
- A chime will confirm you are now logged in with your MT4 trading account.
For MetaTrader 5:
- Click Accept to confirm the Disclaimer shown.
- Complete the form with the following information:
- Login: your trading account number
- Password: your trading account password
Click Connect to account with this information entered.
- The trading platform will load in your browser; you are logged in with your MT5 trading account.
Only MT5 trading accounts on the specified server can be logged in with this instance of WebTerminal. Open a new instance of WebTerminal and follow the steps again to log in with an MT5 trading account using a different server.
Account quick switch
For MT4 trading accounts, the quick switch feature lets you change between trading accounts that have been logged into on WebTerminal without requiring log in.
Click File > Switch to Account and select from any trading accounts that have been logged in previously.
Configuring
Even though WebTerminal is browser based, it still comes complete with useful settings and preferences you can use. First, let’s breakdown the most important windows displayed:
- Market Watch shows you the available trading instruments, their real-time prices, and spread.
- The Chart shows the active trading instrument’s performance over time.
- Toolbox has three tabs: Trade, where you can see your current open orders, History, where you can see closed orders and balance operations, and Journal, where you can find terminal information (shown as icons with MT5 trading accounts).
Market Watch
You’ll see a set of default trading instruments, but more can be added by following the steps below:
For MetaTrader 4:
- Right-click anywhere in the window, and select Symbols.
- Click the instrument group to expand its selection. Instruments with the yellow icon are already displayed, gray icons are hidden.
- Double-click to add or remove the instrument from the Market Watch window. The Show and Hide buttons function in the same way.
- When done, click Close.
For MetaTrader 5:
- Click the Search Symbol bar to bring up a list of instrument groups.
- Either select from the instrument groups shown, or enter the instrument code, i.e USDGBP, STOXX50, etc.
- Click the + icon to add the instrument or click any ✓ icon to remove the instrument.
- Click the ✕ icon in the Search Symbol bar to return to the Market Watch window.
Right-click any instrument to bring up its settings and specifications; this works for both MT4 and MT5 trading accounts.
Chart window
Open the chart for an instrument by dragging it from the Market Watch window (MT4), or clicking on the instrument in the Market Watch window (MT5).
There are three available types of charts you can choose from: Bar chart, Candlesticks, and Line chart. You can easily switch between them in the menu.
Timeframes can be changed for your chart by either selecting one from the buttons in the header, i.e M1 (1 minute), H4 (4 hours), W1 (1 week), etc.:
To change the color settings of the chart, right-click on it, click Properties, and then choose one of the color schemes (MT4), or open the main menu and select Color templates, then choose from the presented options (MT5).
-
MT4:
- Black on White
- Yellow on Black
- Green on Black.
-
MT5:

With WebTerminal configured, you’re set to open orders.

Both market orders and pending orders can be opened with WebTerminal.

- Specify the Volume in lots.
- Select Market Execution or Instant Execution (availability depends on your account type) from the Type dropdown.
- Optionally specify stop loss (SL) and take profit (TP) levels for your order; you can edit this after the order is opened.

Pending order
- Double-click a trading instrument in the Market Watch window.
- Specify the Volume in lots.
- For MT4: select Pending order from the selection in the Type dropdown then select from the new Type dropdown that appears.
For MT5: Click the order type dropdown at the top of the window and select the specific pending order type from the list.
- Complete the required fields for your pending order type.
- Optionally set stop loss (SL) and take profit (TP) levels, as well as set an Expiry for the pending order.
- Click Place (if gray, the set parameters may be invalid).
Your pending order will appear in the Trade tab.
Order management
Order management includes closing and modifying active orders, and deleting pending orders.
Closing orders
Click the X icon in the Trade tab, or right-click the order and choose Close order. With one-click trading (more below) active, the order will close immediately. Alternatively, you must confirm the close order action by clicking the yellow Close button.
Closed orders appear in the History tab.
Modifying orders
You can modify your open and pending orders in the Trade tab. Right-click on the order in the Trade tab, and click Modify or Delete.
Modifying an order lets you change the stop loss (SL) or take profit (TP) for open market orders, or the Open at price, SL/TP, and Expiry for your pending orders.
One-click trading
One-click trading is a useful feature that lets you open new orders literally with one click.
Here’s how one-click trading appears for MT4 trading accounts:
You’ll see the one-click trading feature, as shown above, in the active chart. Change the active instrument to bring up its one-click trading button.
MT4 only: Specify the volume you want to trade, then click Buy or Sell to open the trade with one click.
To turn one-click trading on
The disclaimer for one-click trading must first be accepted before using this feature. For MT4, click Options > One-Click Trading to open the disclaimer. For MT5, open the main menu and select One Click Trading to open the disclaimer.
Tick I Accept these Terms and Conditions, then Accept/OK to turn one-click trading on.
The one-click trading window changes color depending on the price movement. When the price increases, it becomes blue. When the price decreases, it turns red.
