Higher margin requirements (HMR) for stocks +

The margin for stocks is set at 20% during these periods:

Market closures and holidays breaks
- Approximately 3 hours before and 10 minutes after the weekend closure or holiday breaks. The HMR period time may vary. Please refer to your trading terminal for the most current information.
News releases
- 15 minutes before and 90 seconds after the news release (except announcements of financial reports).
- Does not apply to positions opened before this period.

HMR periods during stock earnings reports are as follows:

If an earnings report is published before market opening time (BMO), HMR starts 7 days before the market opening and ends 15 minutes after market closing on the day of releasing the earnings report.

If an earnings report is published after market closing time (AMC), HMR starts 6 days before the market opening on that day and ends 15 minutes after market opening on the next day after releasing the earnings report.

Margin of previously opened stock orders is adjusted to 20% during the announcement of financial reports.

Example: A stock opened at 14:00 GMT+0 with a 5% margin will be adjusted to 20% if a financial report is announced at 21:00 GMT+0.

Do I own the stock instrument I trade? No, CFDs on stocks have no rights for ownership or dividends. Based on CFD products, when a position is opened, the value of the stock instrument is derived from the price at the time of opening the position versus the difference in the value at the time of closing the position.
