Trading is unavailable for forex instruments on weekends.

Trading for most cryptocurrencies is available 24/7, including weekends, except during server maintenance hours. This excludes some instruments with a close-only mode during trading hours, which allows users to close existing orders, but no new orders can be opened during these periods.

• Trading is unavailable for commodities on weekends.
• DST begins on March 30, 2025 to October 26, 2025 for Aluminum (XAL), Copper (XCU), Nickel (XNI), Lead (XPB), and Zinc (XZN).

Metals

• XAU orders follow the standard rules of higher margin requirements in the 4 hours before market close and 1 hour after market open; XAU orders during these periods are restricted to a maximum leverage of 1:200.
• XAU orders placed 30 minutes before the daily break and 10 minutes after are subject to increased margin requirements, with leverage restrictions to a maximum of 1:1000.
  

Energies

Trading is unavailable for stocks on weekends.

*10:00:00 to 13:40:00 UTC+0 in summer and 11:00:00 to 14:40:00 UTC+0 in winter is only for closing open orders. During this period, new orders for these stocks cannot be opened or modified. Regular trading will resume from 13:40:00 UTC+0 in summer and 14:40:00 UTC+0 in winter.

• Trading is unavailable for indices on weekends.
• Quote-only mode is applied for indices from 22:00 to 22:05 in summer and 23:00 to 23:05 in winter. Clients cannot open, modify, or close positions during this period. Pending positions will not be executed, and positions will not be closed by stop out.

This is when open spot trades are rolled over from one day to the next without settling them. This results in downtime for any institution that trades these instruments, such as tier 1 banks, smaller banks, ECNs, and other liquidity providers.

1. Liquidity drains from the markets during the rollover, causing wider spreads. This can be expected during all rollovers.
2. Rolling trades over to the next day incurs an overnight charge equal to the difference in respective interest rates, more commonly known as swap.
3. Dividends are applied to orders during a rollover.
4. The rollover schedule is Sunday to Thursday at 21:00 UTC+0 in the summer and 22:00 UTC+0 in the winter.

We define rollover as a period of 1-2 hours. Lower liquidity may occur longer than a rollover period, depending on the instrument.

During rollover processing, all trading and financial operations are temporarily paused for a few minutes. This occurs due to system limitations. Please be aware of this scheduled interruption when planning your activities.

Gold (XAUUSD) is not as affected because it's not open for trading during this time. However, around the forex rollover, it might have thinner liquidity than usual.

In summer and winter, some countries change their timezone to align with Daylight Savings Time (DST). This impacts market opening and closing hours during summer and winter. We observe US Daylight Savings Time (DST) dates for most instruments*.

Swap is credited to or charged from trading accounts at 21:00/22:00 UTC+0 until the position is closed. Read more on when swap is charged during summer and winter .
