- Click the 3-dot icon (top-right corner) next to Reboot.
- Select Delete then Yes, delete server.
- Open the Virtual Private Server tab in Settings and request a new Exness VPS.

Now your Exness VPS server location will have changed. If these steps did not help, please contact Support.
How do I check my latency rates?
If you feel you may be having connectivity issues, it may be helpful to check the connection speed (latency) of Exness VPS to trading servers.
To see your current latency rates:
- Follow the steps to connect to Exness VPS.
- From the Exness VPS remote desktop, open your chosen MetaTrader trading platform.
- Log in with your trading account by right-clicking Accounts in the Navigator window and selecting Login to Trade Account.
- Click the connection status bar (bottom-right of the Terminal window in MT4 or Toolbox window in MT5) to bring up a list of connectible trading servers and their latency (in ms).
- The server chosen is chosen automatically based on the lowest ms available, but you can select different servers to observe if this improves your overall connectivity.
- Click Rescan servers to refresh this data, and possibly spot some abnormally high latency (in ms).
- Clicking Login will allow you to log in with a trading account (an alternative to step 3).
What is latency?
Latency, also known as ping, is the speed at which information travels from your device to the trading server. It is measured in ms (milliseconds), the literal length of time between when a command is input to when the server receives the command. The lower the ping, the better the connection. The higher the ping, the longer it takes to communicate between the device and the server.
If Exness VPS is still slow on your device, try following our steps for troubleshooting slow Exness VPS, or contact Support for further assistance.
Old MT version update
Some unexpected errors may be solved by ensuring the MetaTrader versions in your Exness VPS are updated to the latest version.
Note: Expert Advisors (EA) are not removed in the update process but some may need to be reinstalled to align with the new version. Open orders remain open during the update.
How do I check my current MetaTrader version?
- Start MetaTrader 4 or 5 in Exness VPS.
- Open Help in the main menu bar.
- Select About.
- A window will pop up with the current version/build of MetaTrader below “MetaTrader 4 EXNESS” or “MetaTrader 5 EXNESS” respectively.
How do I update MetaTrader?
- Close every open instance of MetaTrader 4 and 5.
- Find the MT Updater program on the Exness VPS desktop.
- Launch the MT Updater.
- Sit back and wait for the updater to automatically download and install the latest version of MetaTrader. This process might take a few minutes.
- A confirmation will pop up once the update is complete; click OK to complete the update.
What is my admin password?
You may be asked to enter an admin password after you use the newly updated MetaTrader application. Please select NO in the pop-up window, as this is not necessary and MetaTrader will run normally after closing this window.
Update errors?
If you encounter any errors during the update process, close the confirmation pop-up window and restart Exness VPS and run the updater again. If the update still fails, please contact Support so they can assist.
