Mac
+With QuickTime Player:
- Open QuickTime Player in the Applications folder or by using Spotlight search (Cmd + Space and type "QuickTime Player").
- Click File then New Screen Recording. A new Screen Recording window will appear.
- Click the arrow next to the record button to select your microphone. You can choose to show mouse clicks in the recording.
- Click the red record button to start recording. You can choose to record the entire screen or drag to record a portion of the screen.
- After selecting the area, click Start Recording.
- To stop the recording, click the Stop button (in the menu bar at the top of the screen).
- To access the file, click File then Save to save your recording
With the screenshot toolbar (MacOS Mojave and later):
- Open Screenshot Toolbar (Cmd + Shift + 5).
- Choose the portion of the screen to record.
- Click Options to set the features you need.
- Click the record button.
- To stop the recording, click the Stop button in the menu bar at the top of the screen or press Cmd + Shift + 5 and then click the Stop button.
- The recording will appear in the lower-right corner of the screen. Click on it to trim, save, or share your recording.
Windows
+With the snipping tool:
- Search for the Snipping Tool in the Start menu search box.
- In the top toolbar, click the Record button, then press New.
- Click to drag and drop the portion of the screen you would like to record.
- Click Start and you will see a 3-second countdown begin for your recording
- Click Stop to complete the recording. It can then be copied into memory, shared with the Share dialog, or Saved (by default, it will be saved in the Videos folder).
Android
+With the onboard screen recorder:
- Swipe down twice from the top of your screen.
- Tap Screen record . You might need to swipe right to find it. Tap edit and add Screen record to your Quick Settings.
- Choose what you want to record and tap Start . The recording begins after the countdown.
- You can choose whether to record audio and show touches on the screen before you start.
- To stop recording, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the Screen recorder notification.
Apple (iPhone or iPad)
+With the onboard screen recorder:
- Go to Settings and click on Control Center.
- Add Screen Recording to the Include section.
- Open the Control Center by swiping down from the upper-right corner on iPhone X or later (or up from the bottom edge on earlier models).
- Tap the Screen Recording button.
- To record audio, long-press the Screen Recording button and tap Microphone Audio.
- To stop the recording, open the Control Center and tap the red status bar or the Screen Recording button again.
- The recording will be saved to the Photos app.
Scribe
+- Install the Scribe browser extension from the Chrome Web Store or the appropriate store for your browser.
- Open the Scribe extension by clicking on the icon in the toolbar.
- Click the Start capture Recording button.
- Perform the actions you want to document. Scribe will automatically capture each step, including clicks, typing, and screen changes.
- Once done, click the Stop capture button in the Scribe toolbar.
- Scribe will generate a step-by-step guide. You can edit the text, add or remove steps, and make other adjustments as necessary.
- Save your Scribe guide and share the link with support.
Loom
+On Mac:
- Download the Loom Desktop App for Mac.
- Record footage of either your screen, your camera, or both at once.
- Choose the recording window size; the entire screen, a single window, or a custom area.
- Tap the Stop button when done. Loom will instantly create a link for sharing.
- Copy the video link to share it with support.
On Windows:
- Download the Loom Desktop App for Windows.
- Click the Loom icon to open your screen recorder.
- Choose your capture settings: screen only, webcam only, or both.
- Choose recording size; a single window, a whole screen, or a custom capture window.
- Select Audio Capture. You can select any microphone connected to your computer.
- Record your video. Tap Stop to complete your capture.
- Loom generates a link to share your recording quickly and easily with no downloads or rendering.
- Copy the video link to share it with support.
On the browser extension:
The Loom browser extension is for Chrome, Edge, and other supported browsers.
- Download and install the Loom browser extension from your browser.
- Open the Loom extension in the browser.
- Choose your recording option: Full Screen, Window, Current tab, or Camera only.
- Select your camera and microphone if you're including video and audio.
- Click on the Start recording button.
- Choose your recording options: Entire screen, Window, or Tab then click Share. The recording will begin.
- Click the Loom icon again in your browser or use the Loom app to stop the recording.
- Loom will open a new window with your recording. Copy the link and share that with support.
On mobile:
- Download and install the Loom app for your device.
- Open the Loom app and click on the Loom icon.
- Choose the recording option Screen.
- Click Record screen.
- Choose the option for the microphone on or off.
- Click Start Broadcast.
- Open the screen you want to record.
- Go back to the Loom app and click Stop recording.
- Click Stop Broadcast to capture your recording.
- Close the page. Loom automatically creates the video in the app library.
- Click the 3-dots icon to open a list of options to share the video.
- Copy the video link and share that with support.
You can share the video as a link with support the same way screenshots are shared with support, or upload it whenever prompted by support.
