Log files contain information similar to that on the Journal tab of a trading platform. Information about startup processes on the platform, opening and closing orders, errors, the installation of indicators, server connection, and more are tracked in logs.
If you contact support about an order's execution, we may ask you to provide trading platform logs.
Log files can only show actions made on that specific platform it is generated from; it cannot store information about actions made using a different platform.
Expand the platform below for steps to download logs:
- Go to the Accounts selector button and choose Download Trading log.
- A log file will be saved on your computer.
The log file will contain the information for the past 7 days only (whether or not there was activity during those days).
- Go to the Accounts tab and select the details tab (3-Dots icon).
- On the next page, click Settings.
- Scroll down and click View Trading Log.
- Select the date of the log. Note: You can share the logs using the share icon at the top-right of the screen.
- A log file will be saved on your computer.
On iOS, log files can only be viewed and downloaded for one day at a time. You can access all logs recorded since the app was installed; however, if you delete and reinstall the Exness Trade app, all saved data will be erased.
On Android, log files can only be viewed and downloaded for one day at a time. You can access all logs recorded during the past month; however, if you delete and reinstall the Exness Trade app, all saved data will be erased.
Please note that these steps work for MT4 and MT5, though some names may change depending on the terminal you use.
- Launch the terminal.
- Click File then Open Data Folder, and open Logs.
Log files can only be viewed and downloaded for one day at a time, which you can see from the filename. In this case—“20180101.log”—the log files are from January 1, 2018. You can access all logs recorded since the installation.
Data about actions performed by Expert Advisors is stored in a separate log file. To find it: Click File then Open Data Folder , then MQL4/MQL5 and open Logs .
If you need to send one or more lines from your terminal logs, you can copy them directly from MetaTrader 4 or 5.
- Go to the Experts tab or Journal tab (depending on the type of logs you need: Experts for Expert Advisors log files, or Journal for normal log files).
- Right-click on the desired line and click Copy. You can select several lines by pressing Ctrl+Shift on the keyboard.
- Include that information in a ticket created in the support hub for further assistance.
- Go to Journal in the top left menu.
- Select the dates and tap the letter icon to send it by email. Confirm the recipient is your own email to receive them.
- Attach your logs to a ticket created in the support hub for further assistance.

- Go to Settings then Journal.
- Switch between the dates at the bottom of the window, if needed.
- Copy the text of the log file and paste it into the Live Chat window when talking to support, or include it in a ticket created in the support hub.
- You can also click the letter icon and send the log file there. Confirm the recipient is your own email to receive them. Then attach your logs to a ticket created in the support hub for further assistance.

- Right-click and choose Export to file . A log file will be saved on your computer.
- Include your logs in a ticket created in the support hub for further assistance.
