The push notification security type makes use of Exness Trade to send a notification to your device whenever account verification is required.
Exness recommends the push notification security type for both ease of use and as high level security.
Setting up push notification security type
- Log into your Personal Area (PA), expand Settings, select Security settings then Change under 2-step Verification .
- Choose Push notifications and confirm with Next.
- Scan the first QR code to download and install the latest version of Exness Trade; you can also follow detailed instructions on how to do this yourself in our Exness Trade installation guide.
- Scan the second QR code to enable push notifications through Exness Trade. Tap Turn on push when prompted.
- Verify your account with your current security type.
- Once verified successfully, your security type will now be set to the push notification security type.
Changing push notification security type
- Log into your Personal Area (PA).
- Expand Settings, select Security settings then Change under 2-step Verification.
- Choose I can't access my device and confirm with Next.
- You will be prompted to perform a face scan verification.
- Agree to the Data Use Agreement then start scanning your face.
- Once verified successfully, your security type will now be set to the email security type.
- Log into your Personal Area (PA).
- Expand Settings, select Security settings then Change under 2-step Verification.
- Choose Phone or New phone number and confirm with Next.
- The new phone number option will additionally ask you to enter a new phone number to continue, but both options will require you to verify your account with your current security type.
- Once verified successfully, your security type is set to the SMS security type.
- Log into your Personal Area (PA).
- Expand Settings, select Security settings then Change under 2-step Verification.
- Choose Authentication app and confirm with Next.
- Follow the steps shown on screen to download an authentication app to your mobile device, or read our detailed guide in the authentication app security type article for help with this.
- Enter the code shown in your authentication app to confirm.
- Verify your account with your current security type.
- Once verified successfully, your security type is set to the authentication app security type.
For Exness Trade:
You can select any other security type from Exness Trade by following these steps:
- Open Exness Trade.
- Select the Profile tab and tap the gear icon to open Settings.
- Choose Security type, and tap Change.
- Select a security type from the list.
- Follow the on-screen instructions (detailed below) for the chosen security type.
- Once verification is successful, the new security type is now active.
For security type issues, we recommend opening a ticket from the support hub in the PA for further assistance.
Push notification security type troubleshooting
If you are not receiving push notifications for verification codes, follow these steps:
- Confirm security type: Make sure Push Notification is set as the active security type in your Personal Area.
- Use the correct device: Notifications will only appear on the same device where push notifications were activated.
- Check your internet connection: Ensure you have a stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.
- Update the app: Install the latest version of the app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Enable notifications
- In-app: Go to Settings > Notifications and ensure push is enabled.
- On your device:
- iOS: Settings > Notifications > Exness Trade > Allow Notifications
- Android: Settings > Apps > Exness Trade > Notifications > Enable
- Turn off Battery Saver or Do Not Disturb: These settings can block notifications. Disable them and try again.
- Reinstall the app: If the issue continues, uninstall and reinstall the app to reset notification settings.
