The steps to recover or change a password depend on the password type:
- Personal Area (PA) password: Used to log in to your PA.
- Trading password: Used to log in to MT4 or MT5 with a specific trading account. (Exness trading accounts do not require a trading password)
- Read-only access password: Allows view-only access to an MT4 or MT5 trading account.
Personal Area (PA) password

This is the password used to log into your Personal Area (PA).
- Visit the PA login page.
- Select I forgot my password.
- Enter the email address used to register with Exness and click Continue.
- Depending on your security type, you must validate the action to recover your password before proceeding. Click Confirm.
- Create a new password, following the requirements of a valid password.
- Your new password is now set. You only need to use it when logging in to finish.
You may be required to complete a captcha to continue; entering an incorrect captcha multiple times can freeze the reset password page for 24 hours.
Trading password

This password is used to log into a trading platform with a specific trading account, only applicable to MT4 and MT5 trading accounts (Exness trading accounts do not require a trading password). Do note that your previous trading account password cannot be seen.
- Log in to your Personal Area (PA) and click the 3-dot icon next to any trading account in My accounts.
- Select Change trading password.
- Set a unique password, following the on-screen password requirements detailed. If you set the same as your read-only access password, it will fail.
- Click Confirm when completed.
Read-only access password
Auto-Pause Script
This password allows limited access to a trading account to a third party, with all trading disabled.
- Log in to your Personal Area (PA) and click the 3-dot icon next to any trading account in My accounts.
- Select Set read-only access.
- Set a unique password, following the on-screen password requirements detailed. If you set the same as your trading password, it will fail.
- Click Confirm when completed.
- Your read-only access password has now been changed.
