When are face scan checks required, and what does safe verification look like? Find out what to do if a request seems suspicious.
Do not share identity documents or verification selfies/videos with anyone outside official verification processes.
When a face scan may be requested
A face scan may be requested in some account-related scenarios, for example:
- To enable additional payment methods.
- To reset your security type to email.
Red flags to watch for
If you notice any of the following, pause and don’t take any action. These are common signs of fraud or account takeover attempts:
- Someone asks you to send a selfie, video, or documents in a chat or messenger conversation.
- Someone asks you to complete a Face Scan or identity check that you did not request.
- You are asked to approve a push notification, confirm an action, or enter an OTP/code you did not request.
- Someone pressures you to act urgently, creates panic, or threatens account closure.
You are asked to share your password or OTP verification codes (Exness will never ask you for these).
What to do if a face scan request seems suspicious
- Stop the conversation and do not share files or codes.
- Log in to your Personal Area directly (do not use links from messages).
- Secure your account (change passwords and log out from other devices).
- Open a ticket in the support hub and describe what happened.
